I got the image from Bg a Boo Stamps. They give out free digital stamps every friday. This likttle dragon guy, who's name is Clyde, was a freebie. To begin with talking about the card, I have to begin with Clyde. I actually colored him on the computer. I then printed out four copies of him so that I could create the layered effect. I cut out his body minus the horn and tail with one copy. And on another copy I just cut out his body. It gave him a very nice 3D effect.

The candy corn pattern paper was from Me and My Big Idea. I picked up the matstack a couple of years again, and the color scheme worked perfect with Clyde. The Green cardstock is from Provo Craft and the Halloween sentiment was from Studio G Clear Stamps.Thanks for looking. I joined another swap on Split Coast Stampers. I've gotten lots ideas from these swaps I've done. And when I saw a Hello Kitty swap, I just had to join. I broke out my Cricut Hello Kitty Cartridge and got work.

This one was just a simple one to throw together. I used plain black card-stock for the base of my ATC and using some Hello Kitty pattern paper for a second base layer. I think used a cut out from my Cricut Hello Kitty cartridge. I just used the HK Face and some patterned paper for her bow. To give her face a little "oomph" I used some glitter for her eye color. Then to finish it off I placed a HK sticker of her in a Halloween costume.

For this ATC I just had a little fun playing off the shape of the HK sticker set I found. I just some blue/green pattern paper for the background and plain white card-stock for the base. I used one of my favorite Thoreau quote and a scallop circle punch to go with the scallop edges of the HK stickers.

I am really loving this little ATCs I've been making. I've gotten some great layout ideas from a couple I've received. The background cardstock is a metallic black that just shines a lot better than the picture shows. For added spookyness I punched out a half moon with an one inch circle punch and added some green glitter glue to make it sparkle.

I just had too much fun with this swap. I know I said something about a fall ATC in the last post, but like the silly person I am I forgot to scan a picture of them. :) But I did make one for me to keep, so I'll show that one off later.

This time its a holiday card swap. This one was a swap challenge for me. It was an all white swap with choosing which holiday you wanted to do from Christmas, Hanukkah, or New Years. I signed up for two spots and did a Christmas Card and an New Years card. The New Year's one was a fun one to do.

Christmas Card:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 253px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_K-s0Us-YM7s/SsqRO7hakQI/AAAAAAAAAD0/vNuU1y66F2I/s320/White.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389279589784260866" />

I used two my cuttlebug embossing folders and white ribbon just to accent the contrast between the snowflake side of the card and placed the embossed square on the plain side. It makes just a simple christmas card. I did not put on a sentiment on it because I could not decided which to use, so I kinda left it up to whom ever gets the cards.

New Year's 2010:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 231px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_K-s0Us-YM7s/SsqROeBWu9I/AAAAAAAAADs/H8prr3L1bWE/s320/2010.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389279581865163730" />

I used one my favorite techniques on this card. I learned of the "waterfall" on another site and had to learn how to do it. As you pull on the ribbon, the card flips the numbers over to reveal the year "2010." I cut the numbers out on a shimmer paper to give it a little sparkle. The base of each square and the card itself is embossed with the cuttlebug folder "swiss dots" and I accented the star brads with some glitter glue. What a fun way to tell a family member "happy new year."

Thank you for looking again....
Stop by again for another peek at a really fun swap that I just could not say no to. :)
TTFN
T

Swap-tastic!!!!

So, work has been crazy as it can come!!! To help me keep my sanity I joined like 8 swaps. I know, can you say overachiever?

So for a little fun over the next couple of weeks I'll display my wonderful little works of art. :)

The first is one is for a swap on inspireswapchat.com. It's winter/holiday themed recipe swap. The recipe itself does not have to be a holiday recipe, but the card needs to be in a winter theme. I did one of my favorite cookie recipes of a fudge nut brownie cookie. SO YUM! To go along with the winter theme, I printed the recipe out on a snowman bordered recipe card. Isn't it cute!?!?!?! Then I made "cookies" with a scollped circle punch and decorated the cookies with some extra christmas stickers. For a little added detail I wrapped white thread around the circle, just to make it stand out a little bit.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_K-s0Us-YM7s/SrG8U0MVq8I/AAAAAAAAADk/4TrJpKyvSro/s320/Brownie.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5382290095478254530" />

This one was soooo much fun that I can't wait to see what the other 5 ladies made. />This week's challenge was hosted by Antme/Patti. She asked us to the make an ATC that will make you "Laugh out Loud."

ATCs seem to be popping up lately. I joined a swap, now a challenge...what will be next?

I made two for this challenge. One was a chance to use my new set of Stampin' Up! stamps and the other was to use my new Cricut Hello Kitty.

The top ATC was fun to do. With the image being an old 35 mm camera I went with a sepia inspired scheme. I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots emboss folder and lightly inked over it so the dots would pop out a little more. I just finished it off with some brown/cream ribbon. You can't really tell, but there is some glitter glue on the lens and flash of the camera. The sentiment reads..."Everyone has a photographic memory...some just don't have film." I used the set "That's Funny!" I will be playing with that one later. :) It has some cute/funny phrases.

The second ATC was rally fun to do. I just got my Cricut and I'm still learning how to use some the cartridge features. I picked up this Hello Kitty one during the awesome sale Michael's had this past week. Hello Kitty is one of my favorite images and I'm super excited about this cartridge. I used HK paper for the background and added a quote of "A friend is one who knows us, but loves us anyway." I find this quote both cute and funny. Mostly because it's very honest. I tied the ribbon just under HK paws to make it look like she is holding onto to it. It was really fun to use this image. I think I got it down how to make the characters from Cricut. I will blog on that one day down the line.

I thank Patti for this challenge. I connected me back with my love of quotes. I have many webpages bookmarked that I use in my scrapbooking and cardmaking. I hope that others will enjoy these. I actually can't wait to use them on some cards I am planning in the future.

Thank you for looking today.

I hope this inspires your type='text'>Achievement

Hello again. I'm going to do a follow up to the last post. This time I'm going to show what you can do with an ATC (artist trading card).

I made this card for my cousin who is graduating from college this summer. The little mouse stamp was made as an ATC. Remember that they measure out to be 3.5" x 2.5." They can either be collected, swapped or used on a card.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5329202523167673906" />

I used my new House Mouse stamp. I first stamped it lightly and colored in with colored pencils. Then I stamped over it again and embossed it with clear embossing powder. The sentiment is a Studio G wooden stamp. I just stamped it in black ink and embossed with glitter embossing powder. I layered it similar to the mouse grad. I wrapped some ribbon around just to make a little embellishment for the card.

It's just a simple card. The ATCs make great little additions and make card layouts a little easier.

Thanks for looking.

So...I have been looking at different sites on the internet to gather so new ideas for cards and things. On this website, Inspire, Chat, Swap, I found some interesting swaps. One in particular was for ATCs. After I posted a thread on the forum, I found out that ATCs are cards the size of a baseball card (2.5" by 3.5"). They are little pieces of art that showcase your talents. One of the swaps caught my eye. It was for Cartoon that we Grew Up to. I had to try it out. I picked one of my faves from the eighties...The Care Bears. After mulling around how I was going to do it. I downloaded pictures of the different bears and made little cards to match up with the names. This was so much fun that I'm already looking for another swap to do.

Now...I know what you are thinking. What do you do with ATCs? Well...it's very simple. You can collect them or use them. But you CAN NOT sell them. They are given away in good faith from the artist who created them. They make great accents to cards, or if you wanna frame them instant inspiration when you get stuck on a project. With their size they make perfect "card candy."

Each of my ATCs are one of kind. But they have the same basic components. I used velum stickers for the clouds, embossing for the stars (either clear powder or glitter powder), a cute sentiment and of course a Care Bear.

Thank you for looking. Please come back. I hope this helps to get your imagination going.

T

<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" week's challenge was interesting. It was hosted by Lavenderblue. It was a very creative choice for a challenge that really made me think outside the box.

This is a stamp set that I have purchased a couple of years ago to make invitation for a friend's baby shower. I have really used them since then. I made this card for a co-worker who is having a little girl soon. This color combo is based on her nursery color choice. The paper flowers are something new I'm trying. I inked them to match the color scheme. Also, with the sentiment I tried using markers to highlight only one word 'stardust.'

I hope she likes this card, it really was fun to make. Lavenderblue had a great idea with this challenge and truly made me think outside the box.

Hope this gets your imaginations going. As you sit around your craft room looking at all your supplies, wondering why you bought that item, just think outside the box. ;)

Thanks for looking,

T

Happy Spring Card

This one I had a little fun with. ;)

Supply List:

Main Cardstock cut at 5.5 in x 4.25 in (lavendar)

Layer Cardstock cut at 5.25 in x 4 in (grey)

Ribbon

2nd Layer Cardstock cut at 2.75 in x 5.5 in, folded in half (dark blue)

3rd Layer Cardstock cut at 2.5 in x 2.5 in (light grey)

Final Layer Cardstock cut at 2.25 in x 2.25 in (white)

Okay...so I started simple with stamping the image onto the white cardstock. For this one I used the stamp set "Tree for all Seasons" by Stampin' Up! I colored in the image to bring it a springy feel. Next the punched the corner the a Ticket Punch (also from SU). I layered on the the light grey CS and punched the corners out as well. Then I layered that onto the dark blue CS, this makes it a mini card. For a little added fun I punched the corners on this as well. Then on the grey layer of the CS I put a bit of ribbon off centered and made a bow. I then layered on the the main lavendar CS.

I placed the mini card on the layered to card. To finish it off I did some siggly lines around the white cardstock and a hand written greeting on the inside.

I wanted a simple spring card. With the mini card being where you put the greeting this makes it easy to send off to friends and family. It can easily be changed for a birthday or get well card as well.

I hope this put your imagination into gear,

Thanks for stopping by.

T

<img width='1' height='1'
