CKMB Challenge 03/08/2009

This week's challenge was interesting.  It was hosted by Lavenderblue.  It was a very creative choice for a challenge that really made me think outside the box.

This is a stamp set that I have purchased a couple of years ago to make invitation for a friend's baby shower.  I have really used them since then.  I made this card for a co-worker who is having a little girl soon. This color combo is based on her nursery color choice.  The paper flowers are something new I'm trying.  I inked them to match the color scheme.  Also, with the sentiment I tried using markers to highlight only one word 'stardust.'

I hope she likes this card, it really was fun to make.  Lavenderblue had a great idea with this challenge and truly made me think outside the box.

Hope this gets your imaginations going.  As you sit around your craft room looking at all your supplies, wondering why you bought that item, just think outside the box. ;)

Thanks for looking,

Happy Spring Card

This one I had a little fun with. ;)

Supply List:

Main Cardstock cut at 5.5 in x 4.25 in (lavendar)

Layer Cardstock cut at 5.25 in x 4 in (grey)

Ribbon

2nd Layer Cardstock cut at 2.75 in x 5.5 in, folded in half (dark blue)

3rd Layer Cardstock cut at 2.5 in x 2.5 in (light grey)

Final Layer Cardstock cut at 2.25 in x 2.25 in (white)

Okay...so I started simple with stamping the image onto the white cardstock. For this one I used the stamp set "Tree for all Seasons" by Stampin' Up! I colored in the image to bring it a springy feel. Next the punched the corner the a Ticket Punch (also from SU). I layered on the the light grey CS and punched the corners out as well. Then I layered that onto the dark blue CS, this makes it a mini card. For a little added fun I punched the corners on this as well. Then on the grey layer of the CS I put a bit of ribbon off centered and made a bow. I then layered on the the main lavendar CS.

I placed the mini card on the layered to card. To finish it off I did some siggly lines around the white cardstock and a hand written greeting on the inside.

I wanted a simple spring card. With the mini card being where you put the greeting this makes it easy to send off to friends and family. It can easily be changed for a birthday or get well card as well.

I hope this put your imagination into gear,

Thanks for stopping by.

CKMB Challenge for March 1st

This week's challenge was to create a "thank you" card using only a color scheme of orange and grey, with just a touch of white.

I had a little bit a trouble with it, mostly because I did not have any grey paper.  After a quick trip out to J's, I got started.

I used the new Citrus Pack from DCVW for the orange.  I just fell in love with that flower paper.  Accenting it just a little with some grey organza ribbon.  The sentiment is from SU that is stamped out in orange on light grey paper.

I have fun with these challenges because they push my creative mind.

Thank you for looking, I hope I've inspired your imagination.
